Abstract

Professionalism is a term often used when one observes people in the world of work who demonstrate various forms of perseverance, determination, and unwavering commitment. When teachers work professionally, they uphold high standards in their work, this is because they educate their students to be very diligent in their chosen field. A teacher is a person who has primary beliefs in the field of education in schools and also has very important beliefs in the field of achieving certain goals that have been set in education, such as: teaching, disciplining, educating, guiding, learning and teaching others. Teachers can also be people who provide guidance or support to students, such as parents or guardians, and have good judgment. The aim of the article is to explain the importance of professionalism of Christian religious education teachers in the light of the Bible so that they can be role models for all modern students. By using qualitative descriptive methods, it can be concluded that the development of quality education will be greatly influenced by professional educators or teachers. From this it is clear that the role of competent teachers is very important in helping students understand and remember every Christian religious education lesson taught to them. Apart from being God's instrument or messenger, a professional teacher must be enthusiastic about learning new things so that he can imitate the Lord Jesus Christ and be an example of the Great Teacher who never stops loving His people and guiding every student towards the truth.
