Abstract

This research aims to analyze teachers' difficulties in implementing authentic assessment in the Independent Curriculum in Elementary Schools. The research was conducted qualitatively using a survey method with 4 teachers at SD Negeri 1 Pringsewu Utara who had implemented authentic assessment. The research results show that the main difficulty for teachers is in planning, implementing and compiling authentic assessment instruments which require extra time and energy. Another challenge is the large number of assessment formats that must be filled in, which takes up learning time. Efforts made by teachers include increasing collaboration between teachers, involving schools, and doing it in stages. The conclusion of this research is that with more thorough preparation and adequate support from various parties, it is hoped that the implementation of authentic assessment can provide optimal results in assessing student competency achievement
