Abstract

A teacher who teaches because of his calling, has a mission to lead his students to a better life intellectually and socially. Teachers who teach with the mentality of a mentor and caregiver, not with the mentality of shouting to get wages, but are able to provide energy reserves so that they remain gentle in dealing with students who make their brows furrowed. In this essay, the author focuses on discussing the importance of the professionalism of Christian Religious Education teachers as leaders in the growth of students' faith. The task of a Christian Religion teacher is not only to teach but also to be a leader for his students. The task of a Christian religion teacher is complex so as to enable his leadership to focus more on the concept of service which brings more discipline and quality to his students. The Christian religious teacher as a servant leader is to give his time, energy, thoughts and life as an educator. Qualified Christian religion teachers are able to lead their students with exemplary leadership and love. The characters that are formed will color the lives and activities of students both at home and at school. Teacher Pak has an important role to produce good and specific student character.
